He pulled the journal from the drawer that he had thrown onto the floor earlier and searched the desk again for something to write with. He found a pencil at the back of another drawer and started to write. He wrote down all the things he knew from the beginning, starting with his sister's death. Toby filled half a dozen pages before he wrote, The monster took me. He finished that page with, Now I have written everything down. Toby looked over everything, searching for answers in it. He found none.
