There's a lot left unsaid in that sentence. Sam isn't sure if Cas is referring to peace now that Chuck is no longer a part of it or because Dean has clearly rejected him. Sam is not sure he's supposed to enjoy the attention. In fact, he's sure he should value himself more right now. Sam should be with Eileen now, she had asked him for a date and he lied saying that he had already plans with Cas. He should be focusing on her and making things serious with her and not getting into this whirlwind of doubt. She doesn't bring up that kind of questioning, she's transparent, and she doesn't have anyone else in her life. Sam wanted that to be enough for him.
