Summary
Aster Desmond is what’s known as a Timekeeper. He was born into this world with one responsibility: to ensure the steady onward flow of time… and to keep it going in the right direction.
However, he lacked a mentor, and was completely alone for a long time. He only even learned of his own power after his own death got undone, which would happen several more times afterward. He began to feel detached from everything until he met a kindred spirit: a girl who had a similar power.
Evelyn was her name. While she had control over it unlike Aster, it worked more like a curse... and her power's origins and intended purpose were quite sinister.
At first that was set aside and they bonded over their shared hardships. They became close friends, and the burden they shared became a little lighter. There was hope, for both of them....but it ultimately didn’t last.
Here’s the sad truth: time travel is a terrible burden… and the path of a time traveler is always a thorny one.

Summary

His inborn duty is to ensure the forward progress of the "alpha timeline," the main one on which all are based... and of course, to prevent it from falling into disrepair. He has the ability to control time, cheat death, and bend reality to his will, but his lack of a mentor and ignorance of his power's functions frequently give him trouble.
Evelyn is a girl with a unique curse, an entirely synthetic, forbidden power that grants her the ability to control time, just like Aster. But it comes at a heavy price... and her curse was designed by her own father with the sole purpose of cornering and pressuring the Timekeeper into surrendering his power. Although she rejected her purpose, she struggles dealing with the side effects, and may eventually play into her father's hands.This is a story of two teens who navigate the treachery that is time travel, learn to bear that burden... and find out exactly how troublesome the power of time travel really can be.
