Summary
Dean has cystic fibrosis, a brutal respiratory disease that means he can’t cut it in the life his father chose for him, despite his very best efforts. He also has a give ‘em hell attitude and a dogged crush on his childhood best friend. Castiel has an absent father, a stellar GPA, a comprehensive ten-year plan, and—a lot of reservations about all this.

Summary
The night before his very first shift as an MS3 in PTMC, Robby meets a guy at a bar and goes home with him—it's perfect, but it's definitely just a one-night stand, especially when he bumps into the guy in the hospital the next morning: Jack Abbot, MS4, who doesn't even seem to remember Robby. Many, many years later, the Pitt Christmas after-party is at the same seedy bar, and it turns out Jack did remember, after all.

Summary
Jack Abbot is 41 years old.
He is a grown-ass man, a decorated Army officer, a widower, and someone with completely uncomplicated relationships with terrible coffee, ringing telephones, and the 24-hour clock.
Some of the preceding statements are even true.
Or: Robby and Jack, Pittsburgh, 2016: The beginning of it all.

Summary
This isn’t a story about what was lost. It’s about what lingers after.
Set in the aftermath of a decision they don’t regret but still mourn, this is a slow, aching exploration of Robby and Jack—two men trying to stay soft for each other in a world that keeps asking them to be hard. There’s no fix, no resolution. Just the gentle, painful work of surviving something together.
