Summary
So many stories were told about them, not all of them happy. Did she really need that? More sadness? She already knew that their time was limited. Her diary was practically full, and no matter how small she wrote, almost all pages were full of ink. With just one night left, what would happen in a few short hours? The thought terrorized River, she never believed in destiny but why meet again after all this time and then so abruptly leave after such a short amount of time?
It was then that the Doctor did what he always did, the unthinkable.
Twenty four years.

That wasn't supposed to happen.
Not that she was against it, not at all. River just didn't expect this one in the middle of her dig. Sure, that face was surely a very refreshing view for the archaeologist, even more so because she was forced to work side by side with Lux in the last five weeks.An unexpected encounter with a certain Doctor that River shouldn't have met leads to an alarming discovery. Surely everything is gonna be fine, right?

“To what do I owe the pleasure, Lord President?” Her voice comes weak from her throat, though she’s impressed that she was able to speak at all. River frowns as she says the words—It feels like she’s said them before. Yes, she must have, but her memory is a bit too foggy at the moment to remember when.
“You are an abomination,” says Rassilon calmly, like he’s telling her the time of day.
“Thank you,” River hums.

Summary
Still holding onto his wrist, River turns slowly and comes face to face with her pickpocket. He’s older than she’d expected – fluffy gray curls peeking out from beneath a battered top hat. Tall and thin, he wears a shabby black coat and leans heavily on a walking stick. He’s staring right at her but his eyes are oddly blank and she realizes with a jolt that he’s blind.
“Well no wonder I caught you,” she mutters, watching him frown in her direction. “You can’t even see what you’re doing.”
