Summary
Se-ri saw her face reflected in the glass of the window. She looked like she'd just been told that annual profits had quadrupled in the past year. Or that reunification was happening tomorrow, with all restrictions on intercourse between the two Koreas lifted.
"You shouldn't look so happy, Yoon Se-ri," she scolded that face. "This is a big deal. You are in serious trouble."
Unabashed, the face continued to express idiotic joy. It was not to be reasoned out of the belief that it had been given a gift, unlooked for.
"This is fate," the face said back to her.
After the end of the series, Se-ri makes a discovery that threatens to overturn her and Jeong-hyeok's lives, leading to hard decisions for them both.

“I don’t know why I have to go to this stupid fucking group in the first place.” Ellie slumped in the passenger’s seat of Marlene’s big black SUV. She stared out the window at the evening skyline along the Longfellow Bridge, arms crossed over her chest, lips pressed together in a thin line.
“We’ve talked about this, Ellie,” her social worker responded calmly. “For the judge to agree to probation instead of jail time, you need to complete 12-weeks of court-mandated grief therapy, and since you refused to do individual sessions, we had to find a group that would take you. Compassionate Friends is the only one with an opening.”
“But it’s for people with dead kids,” she said flatly. Bereaved parents, was the politically correct term that the website had used.
