    “Nick!” Charlie exclaims, suddenly holding his cheeks between his hands, forcing Nick to look at him, “Nick, calm down,” he continues, his voice growing impossibly soft, “I’m here, it was only a dream. I’m here.”

    Charlie brushes his thumbs over Nick’s heated skin. It feels wet to the touch and with embarrassment, Nick realises that he’s started to cry. His hands come up to rub his eyes dry but Charlie is faster and moves his own to gather the few escaping tears with his fingers.

    “Hey, it’s okay. I know how lingering such dreams can be. Do you know why I even ended up there? It doesn’t really sound like something I’d do,” Charlie chuckles and Nick knows it’s mostly to lighten the mood, to put Nick a little more at ease and god, he's so in love with him.

    Eventually, she blurted out, “Remember how James used to flirt with me like that?”

    'I beg your fucking pardon?' He wanted to say, but he raised a brow instead.

    “I just mean,” Lily backtracked quickly, “If you want him to stop or at least to get a different reaction out of him, just flirt back.” At Regulus’s scepticism, she continued. “Trust me, he’ll be so flustered he won’t know what to say.”

    And so Regulus considered it.
