“Huh. It's like lookin' in a mirror,” a voice drawled from behind Gojo, and Gojo's eyes shot open in alarm.
He spun around to look at whatever it was that spoke—a familiar voice, one that seemed to claw at his skin—and was deeply, and utterly surprised to see the form of Fushiguro Toji lazily grinning back at him.
“What the fuck!” Gojo spat out eloquently, shock written on his face as he stared at the form before him. Megumi stopped, blinking, brows furrowed as he watched his mentor stare at nothing.
Fushiguro Toji is seemingly back from the dead. The only problem is that he is a) invisible to everyone but Gojo, and b) stuck to Gojo. Ghosts aren't real, but Gojo's annoyance sure is.

He'd always known the kid was kind of insane. Still, for a few extra bucks he decides to go along with Gojo's selfish request for a spontaneous vacation.
Just the two of them. Seven days to drive from the East to the West Coast of the United States. Toji's first flight, first time with a man, first time letting go of a past that's only ever held him back, and maybe his second time falling for someone he doesn't deserve.

He bags groceries at the market down the street from his apartment.
His life is blessedly stagnant. He works five days a week and jogs on the weekends. He comes home to a silent apartment and turns the TV on while he cooks a proper dinner instead of surviving on expired packaged meals. He freezes the leftovers. He lays in an empty bed but reads himself to sleep when the quiet is too loud. He keeps a stack of dog eared novels on his nightstand.
Toji is content. He got out of the game and lives a quiet, uneventful life.
If only the universe would let him stay out.

It is none of Toji’s business if the Gojo heir is alone and drunk and defenseless. He does not do that kind of business anymore.
