Summary
“Let’s get married.” He slowly blinked, trying to see if what she just said was part of a dream he was still having or part of reality. But her weight on the bed and the aches of his body were very real, so he can only assume reality. “I found a lovely place in Colorado, so we can get our nuptials done before the day is up. What do you think?”
An unusual proposal.
Certainly not something he expected to hear this morning.
But how could he say no to such a tempting offer?
His smile grew, “How soon do you want to go?”

saudade (portuguese, n.) - a nostalgic longing to be near again to something or someone that is distant, or that has been loved and then lost
“This isn’t your village.”
“It’s not,” he says aloud, signing alongside his words without a second’s thought.
“Why are you here?”
“Call it a vacation.” He holds his gaze on the painting in front of them. He can’t quite bear to see her expression yet, he wouldn’t be able to take it if she looked at him in disappointment.‘“I’ll be gone in a few hours if you’d rather enjoy the art by yourself.”
Her hands remain still for a moment.“There’s a piece in the other hall that I’m interested in. Care to join?”

Meraki (v.) - To do something with soul, creativity or love; when you leave a piece of yourself in your work.
“A chai latte and an earl grey.”
The drinks came out fast and just as he settled down at a table, the person he was waiting for appeared. As she came through the door, the light just seemed to radiate from her as though she was the very center of the universe.
He felt his smile grow at the sight of her, “My beautiful Makkari, you’re late.”

Summary
Contrary to what people assume from her competitive nature, Makkari wasn’t a particularly jealous person.
What did she have to be jealous of?
She had a job that she loved and was passionate about. A group of friends who were closer than any blood family. And a handsome, loving husband who supported every decision she’s made (excluding the ones that involve her taking in more than 2 stray animals at a time) and only had eyes for her.
However!
However, it did annoy her to no end when other people flirted with her husband.

She thought Ikaris was the one.
She was ecstatic when they moved in together. She was over the moon when he proposed, but…Without much warning, he left, leaving behind a note saying that he needed to rethink his life, his job, and who he’s decided to be. He said he was sorry about not being the man that she deserved and that he wanted her to be happy whether it was with him or without him.
You’d think that after Ikaris’ sudden disappearance, she would stop believing in love. Yet, despite everything, Sersi still believes in love.
After all, how could she not when she’s witnessed the strength of Gilgamesh and Thena’s relationship or the playfulness of Druig and Makkari’s bond?

Summary
There was a particular ring that Makkari had been eyeing from one of her favorite antique shops, for the longest time. It was a gold Art Deco ring from the 1920s with a well kept emerald that Makkari adored. But for whatever reason, the stubborn old man who ran the shop refused to sell it to them and even upped the price so it was more expensive than what Makkari had planned for.
“Do you want to go by that store?”
She huffed out, “No, I looked the other day and he already sold it, can you believe it?”
Yes.
After all, he’s the one who bought it.

Summary
Kingo called her a hoarder, but Makkari prefers to think of herself as a collector.
Everything has a purpose, a reason for being in the treasure trove that she calls her apartment. From her photo albums that date back to childhood to her expansive mug collection to the little ticket stubs that she’s gathered from the places that she’s been.
Most people who stopped by her place would ask her if she would clean up and get rid of the things that she didn’t need anymore, but Druig was a little different.
“I love your place,” Druig said in awe the first time he came over.

Sarang - The feeling of wanting to be with someone until death
“Are you nervous?”
“Hard not to be.” His hands had been jittery all day, not to mention he decided to take a half day at work because his nerves were twisting his stomach so much.
They had talked about marriage and kids before, but that doesn’t mean that Phastos’ mind was set in stone. He might think that it’s still too soon, that they still don’t know enough about each other. It’s fine, Ben’s willing to wait until Phastos is ready, he just wants Phastos to know that he’s envisioned having a long life by his side.
“I’m sure it’ll go well,” Thena assured as she spritzed the flowers with some water.

Mágoa (n.)- a heartbreaking feeling that leaves long-lasting traces, visible in gestures and facial expressions
Since the day that they arrived on Earth, Phastos thought that humans were fascinating.
He wanted nothing more than to give them the best. He wanted to see them grow and advance. He wanted to give them the printing press, the steam engine, air transportation, and so, so much more. Isn’t that why they were here? To protect humans and help them advance? To see them grow?
He’s always held tightly onto that belief.

Summary
Makkari was going on a date. And she asked for his help, so here he is, making sure that she looks amazing for her date.
Makkari stared at him over the steam of her coffee, while signing with her other hand, "Kingo I didn’t ask for your help. Besides, didn’t you have some photoshoot for your next movie this morning?"
“Well I got Karun to clear my schedule for the morning, so I’m here whether you like me or not,” he explained as Makkari let him in.
"My date isn’t for another 4 hours!"
“I know! We’re really running late on time."

“I need your help.”
“Wow, four words I’d never thought I’d hear for you,” Gilgamesh stated as he moved the plates away from the table, “If it’s murder, I just broke my cleaver, so it’ll have to wait. Also Thena would be better for that.”
“Ha. No. Can you help me cook something?”
Gilgamesh stopped in his steps. “Cooking? You?”
Druig is… Very much someone who does not cook.

Summary
Druig carefully carried the box up the stairs of his castle. He wasn’t entirely a fan of how extravagant the old building was, but it was the perfect storage place for putting human artifacts. Moreover, he’d thought that this old historical castle would be something that Makkari would like. He’s gathered ancient relics and modern treasures. From scrolls to paintings, from novels to sculptures, from fossils to jewels. He’s gathered everything he could into this castle, everything that he thought Makkari would enjoy as a form of love and as a form of repentance.
With every new addition to the collection, he would present it to her like a servant presenting his queen an offering.

“Thena, hey Thena,” Gilgamesh gently called out.
“Hm?”
“I’ve gotta head out early today. I put breakfast on the table for you.”
She blinked slowly to regain her bearings. Why does he have to leave early- Ah, right it’s delivery day for Gil. Thena nodded, “Alright.”
He kissed her forehead, “I’ll see you later.”
Thena smiled and waved goodbye.
There wasn’t much point in staying in bed.
After all, there was good food to eat and flowers to see.

Summary
She adored all of her artifacts, but there was something special about jewelry. Maybe it’s because they were things that could always be with her without slowing her down.
Little earrings that remained firmly on her ears even when she took off at pacing speeds. Beaded necklaces with interesting stones or crystals as the pendant. Woven bracelets with beads and metal bangles alike had found homes on her wrists and in her growing treasure pile. She loved all kinds of jewelry.
Rings, however, were her absolute favorite.

“My beautiful, beautiful Makkari,” he said while signing as he always did, “This is the chance that you’ve been waiting for. I would never stop you from going.”
You’re really ok with it?
“Yeah. Just swear that you won’t forget about little old me while you’re out on your adventures.”
Swear.
Like she could ever forget when Druig was home to her.

“Touka?”
“What?”
“Is everything alright?”
Hell no it isn’t, but she didn’t want her husband to worry more (he worries over every little thing after she entered her second trimester). So she smiled, “I’m fine.”
He looked down at her, studying her face carefully, “Do your feet hurt?”
