“I’m an unemployed bachelor living alone out in the middle of nowhere. That’s hardly a good environment for a kid.”
“It won’t be that long, just a few months at most. You don’t need to raise her, for crying out loud, just make sure she stays alive and well. We’ll compensate you and everything,” the Handler says.
“What if I say no?”
A futile question.
“Ultimately, I can’t force you to do anything anymore,” she says, “But the poor kid has been through so much. I’m asking you as a friend to protect this little girl.”
She sucks in a breath and holds it, as if debating to say what’s on her mind.
“You fought so children could have a safe world to grow up in, right?” Her voice is gentle and sincere. “Please, Twilight, she needs that world more than ever.”

Summary
They turn to ash and blow away in the wind, and he cries. The survivors' screams of terror turn to grief-stricken wails. He could block it, but he is theirs and they are his. If that contract is heavier on one side than the other, it doesn't matter. He knows he's not a god, but what is the difference to humans?
"Is this what we must let them bear?" he asks the darkness. Ajak is not there and cannot hear him. He can't leave to find out what happened or if his family has even survived this bizarre cataclysm. It doesn't seem Deviant or Celestial related.
As the humans drift off to bed the third night, Druig is struck with a wave of loneliness so powerful it chokes him. Not a human's feelings. He's never listened to his family's thoughts without permission, but he's opened himself to everyone in the area, and clearly, she's not hiding.
He turns around, and she's there. He spent five hundred years mostly avoiding the others, too angry and hurt to expose himself to the world's cruelty again, but surely, surely she knew he wasn't hiding from her?

Makkari smiles as they stand by and watch sweets passed around as the bride and groom embrace. They offer their congratulations and Druig supposes they'll be moving on but Makkari tugs on his sleeve before he has a chance to.
'Let's get married too,' she tells him and for a second he wonders if he's read the signs wrong. She clearly realizes because she rolls her eyes with an amused grin and repeats herself.
‘Are you sure?’ Druig signs, feeling more than a little breathless, his heart stuck in his throat. This was the last thing he expected her to say and it's making him lightheaded. His beautiful Makkari nods like she's never been surer of anything.
"How do we tell the others?" he asks when they get back. It's already nightfall. The sound of laughter around the kitchen table can be heard from inside the Domo.
Makkari pauses in consideration, coming to the same conclusion he is. She doesn't look like she wants to be the one to tell them either.
'How about a bet?' she proposes playfully.
"A bet?" he smiles back. "I'm listening."
Or, Druig and Makkari get married and wait for the rest of their oblivious family to figure it out.- Language:

They introduced themselves at Druig and Makkari. Their names were like a melody and harmony strung together into the most alluring song Eros had heard in centuries. They were curious about him, but they weren’t awed. Their auras, intensified by their heightened emotions, were a beautiful combination of smoky black and sparkling carmine, intermingling into one another like dueling galaxies.
Eros couldn’t take his eyes away. Did they know how brilliant they were together?

We’re pretty sure you know who Enji Todoroki is - who doesn’t? But we’ll give you a run down of what he and his family has been up to recently, and their history if you don’t know it. Some of his children are pretty elusive!
Best known for playing the youngest James Bond in the most successful 007 trilogy in the last century, Enji, 55, is now the head of Endeavour Media, a production and consulting company for both the big and small screen. The Todoroki twins were prominent child actors, always appearing in films together ever since they were toddlers. We know that Natsuo, 19, much preferred playing sports to working towards the family business, and he is currently in college for nursing. Probably the most well-known Todoroki to the youth these days, Shouto, almost 16, has been acting since infancy.

"Then you can't leave," Tomura replies. "We can do this all day." He mentally curses Dabi, who said that if he lays a finger on the boy, he'll burn down the whole warehouse. Now the most he can do is leave the kid tied up for a while, and that'll probably interfere with movie night. Damn him.
"In that case, I wish to stay." The boy turns to Magne, suddenly back to charming middle schooler mode. "Am I able to have a peanut butter sandwich? Father never lets me eat unhealthy food."

Fai and Kurogane wear matching earrings. They must now prove their right to wear these earrings in the land's Office of Union, before the noble landowner and his (incredibly arrogant) family.

“Assholish?” she suggests, gulping down a large mouthful of her (disgusting) black coffee. “Dickish? Rude? Prejudiced? Bigoted? Homophobic? Izuku,” she says, setting her coffee down and leaning across the table to squish his cheeks together, “I love you with all of my heart, but goddamn, your future father in law is - ”
Izuku sputters loudly in denial, lips pressed together like a pufferfish as Ochako squeezes his cheeks harder.
“It’s going to happen, don’t interrupt,” Ochako says, cutting across his unvoiced protests. “He’s such a dick, Izuku. Such a dick. He’s full of small dick energy. He’s overflowing with tiny, baby dick energy, Izuku, it’s not even funny. The fact that Shouto - nice, kind, incredibly awkward Shouto - came from him is both amazing and somehow impossible.”
(The Crazy Rich Asians and BNHA crossover that literally no one wanted, but I wrote anyways.)
