    It really happens entirely by accident, is the thing. 

    It is not Shen Qingqiu’s fault that one of Binghe’s subjects, in an apparent effort to curry favor with the Demonic Emperor– presumably to acquire an exclusive trade agreement for the admittedly very high quality Three Horned Plums Of Plenty he peddles– had gifted a very particular plant with the collection of rare treasures that he had procured.

    It is also not his fault that that very particular plant happens to be the Blossoming Lotus Of Everlasting Joy, a terribly named plant that blooms precisely once every nine months, and that, when ground into a paste with water acquired from a very specific cave in a very specific mountainous region nearly as far south as one can get in the demon realm, can guarantee a couple can successfully… procreate. 

    Regardless of their respective… equipment.  

    Or: Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe venture into the world of planned pregnancy.

    Shen Qingqiu turned back to look at him. His eyes were big and round, imploring, just as they had been when he’d first proposed a few hours earlier.

    “This disciple was hoping...” he began, voice quivering.

    Shen Qingqiu found himself somewhere between exasperation, impatience, and fondness. He was already preparing himself emotionally to get into Luo Binghe’s favourite position—what more could his sticky disciple want?

    When Luo Binghe still didn’t finish his sentence, Shen Qingqiu gently took his hand into his own. “Yes, Binghe?”

    “That... Shizun could be the one to... do it.”

    Alternatively: post wedding extra sex, but Luo Binghe bottoms for the first time.

    “Help me get the rest of the way out of this hole,” Shen Qingqiu says. He’s going to break into a cold sweat soon if Shang Qinghua doesn’t stop implying that he doesn’t know what happened either.

    or: Both Shang Qinghua and Shen Qingqiu die and wake up in their Sun and Moon Dew Mushroom bodies, without any clue as to who, what, when, where, why, or how this happened. Predictably, shenanigans ensue.
