There hadn’t been any footsteps, no pre-amble to their approach. Just a gentle hand circling her waist, before a second later a deep voice rumbled, “Sorry.”
Pain bloomed in her neck, sharp and aching, and wildly familiar.“What?” She asked, trying to turn.
She couldn’t make sense of what was happening, not of the hand buried in her hair at the scalp, pulling her head to the side. Not of the hand squeezing her waist rhythmically, and not of the deep satisfied rumble coming from whoever was behind her. All she knew was that he was large, and that she couldn’t really seem to move.
But none of it mattered, as a second later, she was asleep.
