Cuando se despierta, cree que está de novio con Enzo Fernández, su amigo de toda la vida. Ni los médicos ni Enzo entienden nada, y piensan seguirle el juego hasta descubrir de dónde viene ese pensamiento.
Enzo cree poder disimular fácilmente, total no ve muy seguido a Julián en persona, hasta que descubre todo lo que implica ser el novio de Julián Álvarez, y no está tan seguro de que sigue disimulando.

He knew that it was weird that Penelope's date bothered him; it was not normal to feel a rush of annoyance when you thought of your friend on a date, nor was it typical to want to wrap her in a duvet and lock the door to stop her from leaving. And as he sat, contemplating his predicament, he knew that the way he had looked at Penelope, clad in a distractingly low-cut top and devastatingly flattering jeans, was not the way one should look at a friend. When she smiled at him, something fluttering and unknown sat low in his stomach, and when she parted her lips to trace them in mauve, something warmer had licked long his spine.
He knew then he was fucked; no good ever came from loving one’s best friend.
