In another, a man invents time travel and breaks time itself. In a third - or is it the first? - there's a lake that's an ocean.
In this version of reality, something different took the opportunity granted elsewhere to the Hiss. It caused a markedly divergent reaction from the Oldest House. It's quite the mess to clean up.
