Summary
Oda Sakunosuke died to a bullet hole in the chest after a drawn-out fight with the murderer of his adopted children. His body was taken by the Port Mafia for examination, and his funeral was held, attended, and funded by one person months later. His death wasn't grieved by many, and even fewer remembered his name in the following years. It was just another example of an unimportant member of the Port Mafia dying on the job.
Or, that was the official story, anyway.

I know there are technically a lot of fics of these two, but a large amount (in my opinion) are somewhat lacking in what I personally want in a piece -- or mischaracterizes one, if not both of them. (Not that I mind mischaracterization all the time, or making a character into your own, just that they usually make Dazai extremely tropey or Oda not written in what I believe to be a very believable manner)/the fic is utterly FANTASTIC but super short/abandonedSo? I hereby throw my hat in the ring!

Summary

Summary
In Yokohama, time rifts open, leading to a parallel universe. Mori wants the return of his Prodigy Demon to the Port Mafia; Dazai wants Odasaku back. Mori offers him a trade: the Dazai from the alternate dimension at his side, and the real Dazai in the universe with Oda.
Mori has a plan.
But Dazai has a plan too.
As the cracks between the two worlds deepen, the Gifted will discover that using their Abilities causes them harm.
Meanwhile, the sake of the universe teeters on the brink of collapse."This is too risky, Dazai, and you know it perfectly well." He tried to hold back his agitation, showing a shred of control he didn’t really have. "What you’re proposing is a lethal plan. This isn’t even about you, me, or the Agency. We’re talking about the balance of the Universe. Do you realize that?"
"He could live, Ango."
"You can’t be sure of that."
"He could. Call it an unwanted side effect of saving our reality, if that makes it easier for you." Dazai was straining to avoid more specific threats, and Ango could recognize that.
But it wasn’t enough.
"At what cost?"

Summary
Reality is like an excellent work-in-progress book, details meticulous and rules carefully lain. However, like any other book, no matter how good a story, there will always be little inconsistencies: plot holes, continuity errors, retcons, and unexplained plot points.
Oda finds himself in one such inconsistency when Dazai and he end up in a changed Yokohama after a single action unravels everything.
