Summary
Mike sat there, proud and jittery, trying not to let his knee bounce under the table. He loved this part: watching Harvey rise, button his jacket, and take command of the room with nothing more than a look. It was ridiculous how hot it was, and Mike had to duck his head and pretend to be double-checking a brief just so no one noticed the grin tugging at his mouth.
And then the door opened, and Mike’s stomach dropped.

But from the hips down… eight powerful, flexible tentacles, their colour shifting like an oil slick in the dim light, rested in the water or curled against the rock. They were sheer muscle, adorned here and there with delicate, fin-like ridges.
His head tilted, brown eyes almost innocent in the dim light.
