"“Are you sure?” Mikey’s asking for the third time. Or maybe it’s the fourth? Admittedly, he’s lost track but that doesn’t distract him from the fact that it bears repeating because this is literally insane. Pete’s done some silly shit before but this? “Like really, really sure?”
Pete’s only half-listening to Mikey’s palpable uncertainty. He’s eyeing his reflection in the full length mirror, steadying his hands enough to place the stencil but not quite committing to it just yet. He’s running out of open space in certain areas, so he has to be mindful of overlap. Wrinkling his nose, he shakes his head and mumbles incoherencies mostly to himself as Mikey continues to insist on rationality."
Pete asks Mikey to give him a tattoo.

Master would never pet him just right at the base of his tail again and he’d never be Master’s ‘good kitten’ again."
Frank agrees to cat-sit for a friend of his and it doesn't go exactly as planned.

Feeling affection for another, the desperate need to protect and simply be close to, is exhausting and it makes Frank feel small, too small and too fragile. Whenever he and Mikey reconnected, be it for three hours or three days, it was harder to let him go at the end of it. Pete clung to him a little tighter when Mikey tried to slip away to shower, claiming his flight back to LA was approaching a little too quickly. Pete tried to encourage Mikey to stay for just a few more hours, offering coffee dates or walks in the park after dark. Something. Anything."
Pete considers, after twenty years of casual hooking up, telling Mikey that maybe he doesn't want to be just casual anymore.
