Summary
Sanji is a fox spirit—a kitsune—who falls in love with Zoro, a human. Zoro is the last of his clan and a valuable tool in a political insurgence that he wants no part in. He just wants to be left alone with Sanji, but, unfortunately, the world has other plans for them. Together, they face plots, tricks, traps, and assassination attempts from people desperate to tear them apart (literally), but through it all the fox’s heart remains true. Sanji will do everything he can to keep his human-mate safe, or die trying.

Summary
Growing up in the Guard, Geoffrey had witnessed first had the consequences of forming attachments. People you loved turned away from the dark, or else marched to their deaths as dutiful soldiers, and to keep a pet would be tempting fate. Leading the Guard was an even lonelier affair.
Despite that, when Geoffrey stumbles across a wounded leech of a different nature he can't stop himself growing attached.
