    Summary

Captain Kim Hongjoong and his crew would do anything in their power to rescue San, their sailing master who was abducted in a seemingly random attack, from the vile clutches of a man known solely by his title: the Commodore - a depraved leader of an unspeakably deadly and despicable fleet.
With no leads and on the brink of despair, they take custody of a man known as the Commodore's favored Lieutenant, Park Seonghwa, a former Navy officer who defected his way into the upper echelons of the Commodore's ranks, and seek to use him to track down the infamous force holding their friend captive.
However, unknown to Hongjoong and the rest, the man they believe to be a willing compatriot of the Commodore is truthfully his greatest victim, called by those who know the open secrets of the depths of the Commodore's evil as the Commodore's Wife.

In an effort to bring their friend home, the crew of the Horizon find themselves in a moral conundrum, attempting to reconcile what they've been told of this man with what they now see. How can a man who is aligned with a monster be a victim, and how can someone who is so scarred and terrified of vulnerability trust anyone enough to tell the truth, even if it could save him?

    Summary

“It’s illegal to hunt animals,” Seonghwa explained softly, eyes flicking over to where Hongjoong was now glaring distastefully at their cottage as a whole. “We get allotted rations from the city on a weekly basis.”

“You aren’t allowed to hunt?” Mingi asked. “Like— at all? What if something happens to your blood supply?”

Yeosang shrugged. “We starve,” he deadpanned.

“Vampires are ruthless, bloodthirsty monsters,” Hongjoong bit out. “The only way they’re allowed to hunt is if they’re a part of a pack because they need to be kept in check. I can’t imagine what sort of delusional pack would want the burden of bloodsuckers though.”

    OR

Seonghwa will do anything to keep his fledglings safe. Anything. Hongjoong's top priority has always been and will always be the safety and well-being of his packmates.

They learn they're not as dissimilar as they once believed themselves to be. And they could perhaps be more if they allow themselves to trust one another.

    Summary

Eyes of the soul, they say. The cores. Branching from the depth of your soul and manifesting into an otherworldly ability that could only be a gift from the gods, a blessing. A hope.

A curse. For if it was untamed, uncontrollable. Wooyoung has been burdened with its weight since he was a mere child, chained and beaten into submission to silence his voice, held at arms to leave his tongue on the blade’s edge, forever damning him to a life of quiet.

His core has only ever served to become Wooyoung’s untimely demise, locked over his mouth in a silver mask to hide away the cruel scars.

So when the opportunity presents for him to leave the castle he’s been locked in for years, Wooyoung grasps at the straws — in hopes of, that, perhaps, one of the other seven heirs also invited to the Kim family’s urgent meeting, might become his sanctuary.
