Summary
The stars were always brighter in Pelican Town.
Ex-Broadway star, Daisy Mae Wilde, moved to Pelican Town with her younger brother for something that resembled peace following the death of their beloved grandfather. After all, it was the only place they ever seemed to find it. Things never seemed to go right for them, but maybe, just maybe, this would. Wilde Acres Farm was plan a-z, with nothing to fall back on in the case that things went awry. In the midst of the ruins of their childhood and lives before, Daisy and Ethan find unexpected peace hidden in the rubble. The sweet doctor, running from his own demons. The boy made of sunshine and rainbows that radiated nothing but positivity. And an entire town that witnessed the childhood that haunts them.

Daisy Mae Wilde inherited her grandfather's farm two years ago. After some rather unfortunate events, she leaves her life in Zuzu City for Pelican Town in hopes of finding peace. A purpose. Instead, she finds herself tangled up in a situation she certainly didn't sign up for with Shane Cooper - Pelican Town's very own alcoholic asshole. Already struggling to stay afloat because of their own personal struggles, Daisy and Shane have to figure out how to navigate something no one else can ever know about while pretending that there totally isn't anything going on between them. This'll be easy... right?

"You okay?" You were aiming for casual but it comes out overly so, like you're self-conscious about it. And, a little slurred.
"Fuck off," Shane says.
You nod. Figures. Turning, you start to walk away again when he says, "Sorry."
You stiffen, look at him. He's looking at you now, managed to tear his eyes away from the shelf.
"Sorry," he says again, with such an honesty to it. "Old habits."
Three years since you last spoke, the rumour around town is that Shane's sober now. When it proves to be true, and he wants to be friends, old wounds are reopened and old habits die hard.

Summary
Alice McCloud spent every summer on her grandfathers farm, becoming close with the boys down on Marnie's ranch. 14 years later, Alice and Shane find themselves thrust back into each others orbits. But will they pick up where they left off, or has adult life left them irrevocably changed?
This was meant to be a filthy little thing, but I am a depressed individual and have found it very therapeutic to use this fic as an outlet for my thoughts on how people struggle with their trauma, and how depression can manifest itself. So, there's a lot of discussion of mental health in here, for Shane and for Alice. That's par for the course with Shane Fics of course, but it's a major theme in my own life so naturally I found it coming up again and again as I was writing this.
I'm currently possessed and updating regularly!
