Caitlyn panicked, feeling extraordinarily unprepared having been thrust into her new position without so much as even a handbook to consult. What were the formalities? What was she supposed to respond with? Where was the damn push to talk button…
“Hellooo? I said Houston, do you copy?”
Caitlyn fiddled with her headset, having finally found the green button on the side and hastily letting out a rather breathless reply. “Um, yes. Hello? This is Houston. I copy.”
There was a long pause in which Caitlyn sat twiddling her thumbs, anxiety pushing the frantic pulse of her heartbeat through her eardrums. Was that wrong? Did she already fuck up? She took a steady deep breath, finger hovering over the talk button until the familiar voice of the astronaut came through her headset once more.
“Damn, Houston. I didn’t expect you to sound so sexy.”
OR
Caitlyn has been assigned as the personal capcom to one of the astronauts currently on a year long expedition at the international space station. Cue long months of pining and desperate longing.

“I love you.” A soft whisper pulled out of Caitlyn before she can stop it. As if she would have tried. It comes out as a single exhale, a breath she needed less than this declaration, this promise.
“I love you too.” If there were more words Vi could use to describe how the world shifts when Caitlyn touches her, how her ears perk up when Caitlyn makes a sound and how her life has adjusted perfectly to needing Caitlyn, she’d say them in a heartbeat. She’ll just have to settle with ‘I love you’ for now.
No broken promises haunting the past or too weak words could possibly change the fact that all Caitlyn and Vi wanted to be for each other was good and safe.///////////

While there for the duration of her husband's contract, she meets Sergeant Violet "Vi" Vanderson of the U.S. Marines, and the two women strike up a friendship, getting to know one another in the limited time they're afforded between Vi's training and Caitlyn's endless social obligations.
As they grow closer, spending every spare minute together, Vi shows Caitlyn everything she never could have even imagined wanting.

Summary
Vi looks at the big clock on the far wall. 7:46AM. She’s one minute late today. Every morning for the past six months - well, every morning Vi’s been on shift, so she’s just assuming about the other days - she’s passed by at exactly 7:45AM, always at a brisk walk, always in a perfectly-tailored suit, not a single long, silky-looking hair out of place.
7:47AM. The crisp clack of heeled boots on concrete pulls Vi out of her musings. There must have been some sort of emergency, because the subject of Vi’s (minor) obsession walks past the fire station at a faster clip than normal. Which is sort of saying something, because Mystery Woman’s got legs for days, long and slender, visibly toned with long, lean muscle through her suit pants. At the faster clip, Vi has less time to admire her ass and tiny, tiny waist as she walks by, but that’s fine, because the view as she leaves is fantastic.

Caitlyn's route to work as a detective at the 51st Precinct takes her right by Fire Station #516, and Vi's been pining after the gorgeous Mystery Woman for six months...what will happen when she finds out that Caitlyn's a cop (AKA: The Enemy)?

Vi ignored him as movement outside the window caught her eye and she leaned over to see what it was. Her neighbor looked up, their eyes meeting for a brief second. A scowl appeared on the young woman’s face and Vi quickly moved away from the window and took her seat again at the drumset.
“Fuck me,” she mumbled.
Ever since her neighbor had moved in a couple of months ago, it had been nothing but complaint, complaint, complaint. She hated Vi’s music, she hated her friends. She hated the way Vi’s cooking smelled (when she had the misfortune of burning it once or twice). She had threatened to call the landlord when Vi flipped her off after a petty argument about whose responsibility it was to bring the trash cans to the curb. Vi couldn’t stand her.- Language:

Summary
My work for NaNoWriMo "All Words Are Words" City of Progress challange.
Set in the Shimmer-ravaged cities of Zaun and Piltover, Dishonored follows the story of Vi, the last bodyguard to Councilor Cassandra Kiramman. Framed for her murder and the abduction of her daughter Caitlyn, Vi is falsely imprisoned by Piltover's Royal Spymaster and usurper, Silco.
Six months later, just days before her execution, Vi escapes confinement with the help of a shadowy group of loyalists who seek to eliminate those involved in the assassination of the Councilor and restore the legitimate government to the Twin Cities. She is further assisted by an enigmatic being called the Outsider, who grants her supernatural abilities for reasons equally mysterious.
Vi takes on the role of a feared and infamous shadow as she pursues members of the coup one by one - but whether she is out for justice or revenge is another question.

Yeah, I took a bucketful of Dishonored, threw it on Arcane and still got Arcane. And Dishonored at the same time. They're the same lore.

Summary
Caitlyn’s shaky breath against her neck feels like the only lifeline Vi has left tethering her to her sanity and she’s not eager to lose it.
Or
Vi doesn't know how to handle all the feelings she's dealing with after watching her sister blow up the council so she does what she always does and keeps forging ahead until she's fixed it, made it irreparably worse or been knocked unconscious. She's hoping for the latter, she's kind of tired.

"I'll stitch you up when you are back to consciousness" she mumbled, completely wrapped up in the dressing of the wound. So much so that she did not notice the voice that addressed her, at first.
A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.
"If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"
Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with.
Then, Caitlyn spoke.
English this time, laced with a light French accent.
"I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

During the summer of 1943, Caitlyn rescues US Air Force pilot Violet McAdams from a plane wreck in the French country side, and decides to hide her on her farm to allow her wounds to heal properly.
Neither of them in prepared for the romance that follows this foolish, yet courageous decision.
