Yeah, so. I don't usually do WIPs. This idea kind of grabbed my brain last night as I was trying to sleep, though, and wouldn't let go until I'd at least posted a chapter. This isn't even my main ship! But here you have it: Thomas Hamilton, pirate captain of the Walrus, scourge of the Caribbean. If I keep this going, the rating will most assuredly change.

“Up, up,” he calls to Silver down in the waist where he’s sitting with Shaw and a few of the other men, splicing rope. Silver looks up at him. “Time to learn to fight at sea.”
“It’s terrible when he gets like this,” Silver tells Shaw, as if Flint can’t hear him. “All bloody-minded and cheerful. Here, take this bit. The Captain calls, and I must answer.” Flint grins benevolently at them both and fetches the sticks he’d stashed near the mainmast in anticipation of this moment.

His big, broad hands, roughened by sea life. The two long black curls of hair that just reach his nipple, and oh, he’s talking.

He kisses his fingertips and presses them to her mainmast. “Easy, lady,” he murmurs. “We’ll bring him back, don’t you fret none.”
