Summary
It’s been a lonely few years for the twice ascended god. He’s been traveling the mortal realm looking for his last and most devoted devotee, his ghost soldier Wu Ming. He swore to himself that he’d never purposely hurt the ghost again, that he’d do whatever if took for forgiveness he didn’t deserve.
Though he understands that Wu Ming may not even want to see him. But he has to at least properly apologize, as selfish as that maybe. If Wu Ming would allow he’s daydreamed of happily traveling with the ghost again, under better circumstances this time than the last.
He did have a slight issue when he first ascended, he desperately wished to be banished immediately thinking he didn’t at all deserve his ascension and godhood but also desperate to go back and check on Wu Ming. Unfortunately he was rejected despite his efforts.

Xie Lian and Hua Cheng meet after Hua Cheng beat those 33 heavenly officials, in typical Hualian fashion they spar for 3 days as their first date!

“Your highness?” it was nothing more than a whisper, but it scared Xie Lian to his core. He screamed, whipping his head in the voice’s direction.
There, between the legs of dozens of unimpressed pedestrians, stood a man wearing crimson clothes.
Blood. There was blood everywhere. Xie Lian could only see seas of red. He had found him.
Before another word could escape the youth’s mouth, Xie Lian scrambled away, fear itching itself to his skin. A raw, curling scream roared out of his throat.
But then, darkness embraced the poor man, leaving the crimson-clothed stranger alone, with Xie Lian sprawled in his solid and protective arms.
TLDR: Xie Lian navigates divorce, loneliness and PTSD while learning to love and trust others.

Hua Cheng sit up in his seat with some uncertainty. The stranger kept smiling down at him, face slightly flushed and hand shaking a bottle of sunscreen almost apologetically.

But, even after Xie Lian lost all his belief, in others and in himself, Wu Ming never stopped believing in him. And maybe, just maybe, Xie Lian can finally believe in someone again.

The silvery glint of a blade was all Xie Lian saw before the unmistakable cold bite of metal pressed against his throat.
