Summary
The last thing Giyū saw was the horrible creature known as Muzan crawling away to another part of their quickly crumbling world, taking the hashira who could still fight with him, and the bodies of those who no longer couldn't, behind him. Giyū was the latter, trying to stand up even through the sea of blood at his feet. He was dying.
Why was this happening? Wasn't the slayer mark supposed to boost his survival?
Turns out, it did. Maybe a little too well.
Fate had once again chosen the wrong person to save, Giyū thought, back in his thirteen year old body, staring at his dead childhood friend right in the face. Tanjiro would have been so much better at time travel.

Summary
In the Hidden Kurobane Residence, laughter echoed as Aiyaka and Itsuki played in the yard, chasing animals without a care. From the veranda, their parents watched in silence.
Hoshika clutched a crimson ribbon, her warm voice breaking. “Do you think they’ll understand?”
Akihiro’s sharp gaze stayed on the children, his tone steady, pragmatic. “We must be strong… for them. Aiyaka may understand, but not Itsuki.”
Tears welled in Hoshika’s eyes. “My only regret… is not seeing them grow.”
He pulled her close, voice low. “I know. But we must have faith—in them, in our allies.”
Hoshika brushed her tears away, forcing a gentle smile. “Kids…”
They turned eagerly. “Yes, Mother?”
Akihiro beckoned them, stoic and calm. “Come here. It’s time for a family meeting.”
The siblings hurried over, unaware.
They didn’t know this would be the last time their family sat together. The last time they would hear their parents’ voices. The last time their world would feel whole.
