The mechanic isn’t just pretty – she’s muscular. And sweaty. And broad. Her shoulders are wider than they look at first glance, and as she reaches up to remove her hat and wipe at her brow with her forearm, Lena can see her bicep flex.
Lena tries very hard not to be affected by that, or by the adorable red line the ball cap leaves on the woman’s forehead.

Needing to get away from the stress of her job for a few months, Lena buys a summer lake house in the most remote town she can find. She fully intends on keeping to herself, resting, and interacting as little as possible with the locals.
Until her car breaks down, and the town mechanic happens to be the hottest woman she’s ever seen.

Summary
When Lena finds out Kara and Supergirl are lovers, of course she’s happy for them. Ecstatic, even. She’s always sworn no one could be good enough for her Kara, but Supergirl comes close. Nevermind that Supergirl abandons Kara on dates, drags her onto dangerous battlefields for “the story,” and doesn’t seem to give a flying hunk of kryptonite that Kara is constantly being kidnapped to bring Supergirl down. No, Lena is thrilled.

Summary
Water fell in an even, rhythmic pattern, echoing across cobblestones. A shallow puddle gathered in the low corner of a damp dungeon. Chill seeped from the cracks in the walls and floor.
Chains clinked gently across stone, and an occasional draw of haggard breath pushed through the silence. A woman was on her feet, barely, knees bent and head hanging, hands manacled above her head. She was gripping and releasing the chains in time to the drips, trying to keep blood flowing through her aching arms and shoulders. She inhaled and exhaled slowly, dry tongue occasionally darting out onto dry lips. Blonde hair hung down, framing her face, sticking to her neck.
Kara Zor-El, princess of Krypton, was a prisoner – and she was scheduled to become a martyr.

Summary
Lena Luthor had decided early on that people tend to avoid you if you're blasting loud music and not looking their way. it discourages most people from striking up conversations. So, every night, she connects her immersion headphones and blasts her favorite Gothic metal playlist while reading her book of the week while on the subway home (much to her mother's disapproval and Lena's delight).
Kara Danvers is a up and coming journalist sent on an internship to the Daily Planet with Lois Lane (really it's just a front so she can shadow her cousin. he insisted on her doing this before she decided to take on the mantle and don the cape). it was a miracle Cat Grant had even agreed to this in the first place. so the cardigan toting blonde finds herself on the subway every night after work on her way home.
it's loud and lonely until Kara lays eyes on a certain goth sitting across from her.
One day Lena comes onto the train with her bag and a book and sits opposite Kara. it takes the blonde a second but finally she realizes what's missing.
Kara asks "no headphones today?"

The problem is that every time Lena sees Kara--her sparkly eyes and easy smile and the way her whole face lights up the moment Lena enters a room--she mostly wants to forgive her, more than anything she just wants to be close to her. She wants her friend back, wants to be normal again, wants to pretend this whole thing never even happened and she never found out Kara's Supergirl.
She wants to go back to being in love with her, wants to actually get a chance to tell Kara that she's in love with her, but she can't. She can't do any of that.
OR, the one where Lena cries a lot, loses Kara, gets her back, and starts learning how to be okay again. Especially that last bit. ♥

"Today's practice shouldn't be hard to follow, so pick up what you can and try to jump in. But don't hesitate to ask me anything if you're lost. I'm really good with taking questions, and I swear I don't bite."
