    Drift was already falling apart, Ratchet could see it. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't form words. They had already said their goodbyes. There had been plenty of time to prepare for what they both knew was coming. But now, with only moments left, Ratchet wasn't ready to go. He wasn't ready. He needed to speak to Drift. Hold his hand. Embrace him. Tell him so many things.

    Ratchet jumped – and whirled around to the voice at the door. “It’s my off shift!” he snarled, instinctively keeping his hands behind his back to hide the shaking. “If you’re not actively leaking you better come back during regular hours – oh. It’s you.”
