Barty notices something move between the older boy’s legs. “Didn’t take you for a cat person, Potter. What? Couldn’t take care of your owl, so Mommy and Daddy decided to get you a new pet?”
“Pet? Pet!” He kneels to pick the feline and holds him close to his chest. “Mr. Snuggles! There you are. I thought you ran away to catch mice.” James never knew his voice could get this high. He clears his throat and looks back at Barty. “I think we’re getting very sidetracked here. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you enjoy being in my company. To answer your initial question, no, I have not seen black around. Happy?”
“Elated,” Barty says. He squints his eyes at Potter one more time before scoffing once again and slamming the door of the compartment shut. James waits for the sound of footsteps to fade before casting a muffliato and making sure to lock the door again. As soon as he does the cat on his arms hisses at him, swats him in the face, and jumps from his arm. Landing on the floor before becoming a human again.

(✬);Let it be known that Kageyama Tobio doesn’t run away from eye contact—quite the opposite, actually—his eyes never falter, never look away. It’s been like that since he was a baby, at least that’s what his parents tell him. Always staring at people in the eyes, not between the eyebrows, not at their forehead, but at their eyes, doesn’t make him nervous, usually; other people get nervous from his eye contact. He’s had quite a few tell him that his stare is intense, like he’s trying to read their soul or maybe try to read their thoughts. Or at least that’s how it usually happened. Until recently, Kageyama didn’t know when it started, or why it only happens with one person, but whenever he looks down and into the eyes of a certain carrot-colored-hair guy, he can’t help but look away to find the lines on the floor, the skin around his nails, or—thanks to his height—the view above Hinata’s head. The shorter guy always calls him out, says it’s rude, that he’s ignoring him, which would be wrong; Tobio always listens to all the stupid words that come out of Shouyou’s stupid mouth.

Summary
Satoru doesn't survive the fight with Fushiguro Toji. He dies, cold and alone, leaving behind only a curse with a taste for carnage. Suguru brings that curse to his lips, swallows down the remains of his best friend, his one and only. He doesn't know if it's Satoru's soul or just a mindless curse he's ingesting, but still, he can't part with it.
