Summary
Edwin gives Charles some audiobooks. Charles doesn't like them as much as Edwin thought he would.
Based on this amazing post by honorarypines on tumblr: "Edwin finding out about the existence of audiobooks and buying some to Charles because 'he seemed to quite enjoy listening to stories read out loud and now he can also do so when Edwin's not around'.
Soon he notices that Charles won't ever listen to them. Edwin feels a little sad that his gift is being underappreciated, which then leads to Charles admitting that him enjoying it when Edwin reads out loud was much less about the book part and much more about the Edwin part” -

This is entirely based off a conversation I had with Athens where I was complaining about people online misunderstanding Charles response to Edwin as a rejection, and they ever so wisely responded with “yeah it wasn’t a rejection, but Edwin thinks it was” and so heres this

Edwin truly has the best friend he could possibly ask for, Charles was so understanding and kind about his confession even though he didn’t reciprocate his feelings.
Charles has the best mate ever! Ed’s is totally understanding that he needs time to think about how he feels and what a healthy relationship between them would look like.

I really want Charles to drop some of his flirty try-hard pick up lines on Edwin when he starts to figure it out. And who knows if it worked on girls in the 80s, but it *absolutely* works on Edwin, who is pretty sure that Charles is the coolest, sweetest thing that ever lived, and his stomach is extremely swoopy about it. In the aftermath of 2026 trials Klavier is doing fine. He just needs to be left alone for some time, and the world seems eager to oblige. All, but for Apollo Justice, who for some unfathomable reason decides to hang on.

“Ach, not this,” Klavier sighed, waving a hand dismissively. “I’m not a witness in a courtroom. Your strange strategy is not necessary here.”
“Oh, but I think it is,” he continued, feeling a little more emboldened - perhaps because it really did feel like court at the moment. “I don’t believe you when you say you’re okay. You see, whenever I or the reporter asked about that, you’d push up your sunglasses. In fact, why do you have those on inside?”
Klavier swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing.

“Do you want him to meet Flambae?” Prism asked, cradling his skull in her hands, and he wished he could hate her for knowing all those little tricks, all the things that turned him pliant and receptive. He wished he could hate her for having made a home of him, knowing him as she knew herself, but it wasn’t like it didn’t go both ways. “Or do you want him to meet Ajmal?”
Flambae huffed, neither entirely amusement nor entirely scorn. Caught in her hold like this, he could not escape the intensity of it: that name and all it encompassed, the name his mother had given him, that his niece squealed out with glee whenever he visited, that only a handful of people knew. The name he’d had the chance to share with all the others and had chosen not to, simply because it felt like a breath of air over his open heart to hear it spoken.
“You’re nervous,” said Prism, her fingers curling along the back of his neck. “It’s normal, babe.”
“I’m not nervous,” he said, convincing nobody.
