In the aftermath of 2026 trials Klavier is doing fine. He just needs to be left alone for some time, and the world seems eager to oblige. All, but for Apollo Justice, who for some unfathomable reason decides to hang on.

“Ach, not this,” Klavier sighed, waving a hand dismissively. “I’m not a witness in a courtroom. Your strange strategy is not necessary here.”
“Oh, but I think it is,” he continued, feeling a little more emboldened - perhaps because it really did feel like court at the moment. “I don’t believe you when you say you’re okay. You see, whenever I or the reporter asked about that, you’d push up your sunglasses. In fact, why do you have those on inside?”
Klavier swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing.

She blinks. Once, then twice. Then—

"You actually look fuckable, what the hell," Courtney wheezes, sounding just as stunned as Mandy feels. Neither notice the sound of Prism's phone shutter clicking multiple times.

“Do you want him to meet Flambae?” Prism asked, cradling his skull in her hands, and he wished he could hate her for knowing all those little tricks, all the things that turned him pliant and receptive. He wished he could hate her for having made a home of him, knowing him as she knew herself, but it wasn’t like it didn’t go both ways. “Or do you want him to meet Ajmal?”
Flambae huffed, neither entirely amusement nor entirely scorn. Caught in her hold like this, he could not escape the intensity of it: that name and all it encompassed, the name his mother had given him, that his niece squealed out with glee whenever he visited, that only a handful of people knew. The name he’d had the chance to share with all the others and had chosen not to, simply because it felt like a breath of air over his open heart to hear it spoken.
“You’re nervous,” said Prism, her fingers curling along the back of his neck. “It’s normal, babe.”
“I’m not nervous,” he said, convincing nobody.

Summary
It was refreshing, he thought. It felt nice to set down the roles of heroes for a night and just be people, go out into the world without the expectation of helping whoever needed help at that moment.
That didn’t stop Prism from attracting lost, recently heartbroken girls in the bathroom of whatever club they’d go to and making it her personal mission to talk them into making better decisions, but at least it was a choice, then. She would return to find Flambae on the dancefloor, often accompanied by some other man, and whoever she didn’t approve of would be pushed to the side and told he was taken, because she’d apparently made it her mission to get him to make better decisions, too.
Hence the dread. Hence the gradual fade of her music as she read his silence exactly for what it was.
“Okay,” she said, “get your ass over here and tell me what’s up.”

Summary
Herman didn’t get sick often since his water powers would essentially wash all sorts of bacteria away. However, it didn’t make him immune to all illnesses ever. It just meant that whenever he got sick, it hit him twice as hard since his body wasn't accustomed to being ill.
So that was where he was; sweating profusely on his plastic-covered bed, practically flooding his room. All while his grandma was downstairs cooking some soup. He could smell the rich scent of beef broth and boiling potatoes, making his stomach grumble. All because of a slight fever.
In which Waterboy is sick and Flambae begrudgingly goes to check on him. He gets more than he bargains for.

There are few things in the world that Apollo would give the label of hate.
Loud cars, he dislikes. Cleaning the toilet at work is annoying, but probably not enough for even the dislike label. People who get on his witness stand for the sole purpose of lying, strongly dislike, but not hate. Even most criminals, he would say, don’t earn themselves the title of “hated by Apollo”.
February 14th is absolutely an exception to that rule.
