Commuting back and forth between Boston and Montreal is boring, flight delays are even worse. Even MORE boring are the amount of dick pics on a certain app as Ilya's looking for some entertainment. But then there is Shane, Shane is only 788 meters away. Shane is a bottom (allegedly) and Shane has the most aggressively straight profile Ilya has ever seen on a gay hookup app. He just needed to make sure he wasn't a straight who lost his way, that was the only reason he messaged him and agreed to meet him in an airport lounge.
It was the only reason they kept meeting up after that, just to make really really really sure he wasn't straight.

Summary
The twins leave for their first ever school camping trip, and Shane handles it exactly as well as expected (badly). Theo has packed enough emergency supplies to survive the wilderness indefinitely, Lena is mostly concerned about lip gloss logistics, and both Shane and Ilya are pretending they’re completely normal about their children being gone for an entire week.
Then the emergency phone rings less than an hour later.
Or: Lena forgets something important, Ilya goes full girl dad about it, and Shane realises all over again that the language they fought so hard to learn became something their children speak naturally.

Rose just scoffs silently and shakes her head. “Forget it, Shane. That’s Ilya Rozanov.” At Shane’s raised eyebrows and another, slightly stronger, shove with his elbow, Rose begrudgingly elaborates. “He’s the captain of the hockey team, pretty well-known on campus. And the one thing everyone knows is that the moment you want him, you've already lost.”
Shane frowns, leaning in a bit closer to his friend. “What does that even mean? Is he taken?” he questions, annoyed but still curious.
“Nah, he’s a weirdo,” Rose giggles, stifling the sounds behind her hand when a shush sounds from behind them. “Rozanov loves the chase. He’s got a thing for people who don’t want him, but the moment they show interest back and let him hit he gets bored and moves on. I swear he has some issues he needs to go to therapy for, ‘cause that’s just not normal.”
