Continuing my remix of Season 7 and the premise that just making Castiel female doesn't make a relationship with Dean quick or easy.Young men are being killed in suburban Illinois, so Dean and Sam take Cas out for her first case since her resurrection as a mostly human female. Typical SPN hijinks ensue. Sam struggles with flashbacks to the Cage. Cas tries to comprehend being human. Dean tries to dodge what he's feeling because he's afraid of messing up his relationship with his best friend. And to top it off, there's fairies. Dean hates fairies.

Summary
It's months after Castiel was rescued from The Empty, months after Chuck was defeated and a new order installed in Heaven, and months without any sign of a monster or need for a monster-hunter. Dean is trying to figure out where he fits in the new, monster-free world. What better to do than to take a two-week vacation with Cas on the New Jersey shore. They eat new foods, make new friends, Cas talks to dolphins, and Dean starts figuring out what he wants to do with his life. The most important thing about this new life is sharing it with Cas.

On the way home from hunting a wendigo, Dean and Castiel are snowed in with limited supplies. Cas is disappointed because he is unable to get back to the Bunker in time to celebrate Jack's first Hanukkah with him. Dean and Cas are forced to talk to each other and reckon with their feelings. There's only one bed. Will there be more than one kind of Hanukkah miracle?

Why didn't Jack bring Castiel back immediately at the end of 15.19, along with everyone else? Here's my theory. (Jack does bring him back, of course, because no unhappy endings in 2020! and because Dean and Cas deserve it). And if you need to, call this the ending and let's all pretend 15.20 never happened.
