The Black Shores Ranch was once a normal ranch like any other, with livestock, amazing crops, and good business, and it was a well-known ranch that sparked many long-lasting friendships with nearby villages. Since his transfer from the military into the police force, Geshu Lin only handled major crimes. He was determined to expose all the scroundrels to justice's iron fist.
Recently, the traditional medicine shop on the police's radar gained a new employee. The young man was tall with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. With a slim face and eyes that seemed to be overflowing with golden honey, he'd braid that head of silky, pine-coloured long hair down his chest. Originally from the countryside, the young man spoke softly with a refined and gentle demeanor. Occassionally, when he encountered something intriguing, he would tilt his head slightly and his expression mirrored that of a clumsy little dog, who believed it could understand anything so long as it stared long enough.
This wasn't someone who would be associated with smuggling or the mafia.
Geshu Lin imagined the man's lips would taste cloyingly sweet with a hint of natural bitterness from the herbs. Maybe? He hadn't tried it yet. After all, in the fleeting instant where they brushed past each other, those moonlit fingertips had an unsettling coldness.
And Geshu Lin's intution was never wrong.
