Summary
Tom Riddle had always seen himself as more similar to a serpent than a human. A creature not bound by a moral conscience or man-made laws, but instead ruled by instinct and made superior by nature. As such, human weaknesses like love and death are not things that Tom needs to concern himself with, especially after he is gifted the secret to immortality.
So why is it that one (frankly inconsiderate) Gryffindor has decided himself to be worthy of screwing up all of Tom's carefully thought-out plans?

Summary

The attack on the Northern Water Tribe goes differently, Aang and the ocean spirit don’t destroy the entire Fire Nation fleet, only most of them.
Zhao escapes, taking Sokka and a few other Water Tribe men as prisoners. Knowing Sokka is traveling with the Avatar he gets sent to Zhao’s “special prison camp” that is hidden near the Earth Kingdom colonies.
Sokka gets a taste of the real war, not the war that he thinks he knows from traveling with the Avatar. While Zhao’s prisoner, he struggles to survive the inhuman conditions. Alone and thought to be dead, he feels himself slowly losing hope.
Seeing a familiar face brings back his hope, even if that face is the scarred Prince of the Fire Nation.
Sokka and Zuko come together to survive and end up depending on each other for a lot more than they ever thought possible.

Regulus and Sirius Black are English-French royalty and First Class passengers. It's a luxury most can only dream of. But for both brothers, the Titanic is a nightmare bringing them closer to futures they do not want.
James Potter and Remus Lupin aren't supposed to be on the Titanic. They get lucky winning Third Class tickets in a poker game just moments before she sets sail. For them it's a fresh start, a sure shot to new lives and freedom across the sea.
