Shane took a deep breath and walked toward Ilya. Steeling himself, he said, “Hey.”
“Not here.” Rozanov said tightly.
“No, I’m not…I just wanted to see…I need to talk to you.”
“We have nothing to talk about Hollander. Not here.” Rozanov said. Shane frowned. Rozanov looked exhausted. His eyes had lost the playful spark that made them dance. He took a deep breath, noting the clear absence of his warm alpha scent.
“Rozanov, I need to talk to you. It’s important.” Shane pleaded. “You didn’t answer my text...”
“No, I didn’t answer your boring text. Now will you go?
Shane's omega was begging him to stay, to tell his - no the alpha but he pulled himself together. "Fine. Ilya sat by his husband's side on the bed. He cupped Shane's cheek in his hand, bringing him in for a kiss. They kissed, quick but nice. “You did an amazing job.” Ilya said to Shane in Russian. “I love you so much my heart feels like it can burst.”
Shane gave him a soft smile. He leaned into Ilya's hand. “You make my heart feel the same.” Ilya's thumb brushed against Shane's cheek. Against his freckles. He silently prayed that his babies would develop freckles as they got older.
