Summary
It began, as so many dreadful things do, at a party.
Elizabeth Bennet’s first impression of Fitzwilliam Darcy is… unfavourable. Her second and third impressions are hardly any better. He’s aloof and haughty and casually insulting, yet she keeps catching glimpses of something deeper in his character. Which is the only possible explanation for why she can't seem to get him out of her head.
Free-spirited artist Elizabeth is everything Darcy disapproves of, yet he finds himself captivated by her... and quite desperately attracted. Try as he might he can't stop himself from wanting her, or being drawn back again and again as she works on a mural for his new offices. He can't seem to stay away from her, or stay out of his own way in his attempts to connect with her.
When the consequences of Darcy’s actions bring the sexual tension between himself and Elizabeth to a head they both think that will be the end of it. Summary
Story summary: Rosings Park was left to Anne de Bourgh when Sir Lewis de Bourgh passed. With Anne is facing her own death, she arranges a nefarious scheme to allow her mother to stay at Rosings while giving Elizabeth independence.
EB&FD will end up with a HEA, but this is not a story for everyone. Most of the major themes in this story come from history, people I've known, or things the author has experienced.
This story was originally published in 2016 as "Lady Catherine Heading for the Hedgerows". It was taken down at the start of 2019. It was restarted in April of 2020. See Ch 1 for a more detailed description of what happened. I am now back to reposting the stories for your enjoyment. I will be posting at least 1 chapter a week.
This story is 39 chapters with the last 3 being an epilogue and bonus content.

This story starts the morning after the fire. A lot of things have not happened yet and maybe they never will. Georgiana has not been kidnapped. Charlotte has not yet met Lady Susan. Sidney has not encountered his old love.
Babington is engaged to Esther, though.
Some of the familiar events will happen but not in the same order or way as in the original storyline. In other words, the timeline will be horribly incorrect.
Most importantly, Sidney and Charlotte are definitely not in love.
