He knew the president of the student council, and he knew that he hated relying on others. If he can take the blow by himself, he will. If he can do something entirely alone, he will. Even if it meant abandoning the things that no longer serve him. The one thing he wouldn’t do was involve other people in his life unless it was absolutely necessary.
