Summary
“We need a doctor,” the first kid says as soon as he leaps ashore.Pipsqueak can’t be any older than Nojiko; he’s small and slight, physically clean but with a sort of rough edge that Bellemere remembers all too well from her hoodlum days. Brat is keeping his hands clenched and down by his sides, but there’s a cutlass almost as tall as he attached to a wide leather belt slung across his chest, the sort of thing that could cause all sorts of damage even in the hands of someone who can’t properly wield it.
The boy and girl flanking him have their own swords, and look a little more serious with them. But Bell focuses on the first kid, the way he’s identified Genzo as the person to talk to at the front of their small crowd, the posture that practically screams he’ll get what he wants one way or another.
