Butcher didn’t need to call.
The second Homelander stepped back into Vought’s world, his face filled every news station. It had been almost a week.
“Butcher?” Butcher turned to meet Hughie’s concerned gaze. “Hey, are you alright, man?” Hughie asked, a small quiver in his voice.
“What would make you think I'm not?”
“You’ve just seemed pretty distracted. And, um, you’ve just been staring at the TV for a while. I mean—I get you hate Homelander, but I don’t see how this–”
“Kids got a point; we are supposed to be finding this supe terrorist,” MM interrupted.
Before Butcher could respond, a familiar laugh played through the TV.
He turned to see Homelander sitting in a blue foldable chair beside a dark-haired woman, laughing and smiling, her hand resting on Homelander's thigh.
Butcher ground his teeth. Hearing movement behind him, he turned back to the boys.
Kimiko was signing, Butcher looks towards Frenchie, who was desperately holding back a laugh, “She says she thinks they are fucking.”
