And then keeps coming back on Thursdays. He doesn’t seem to have much choice in the matter, actually. For the rest of the week, he’s stuck in the Empty, and Dean is left trying to figure out how to save him, how to talk to him—and how to get him out for good.

Summary
“It frustrates me,” Cas mutters, “how the same sensation can feel sometimes good, and sometimes not.”
Dean’s hand is still rubbing slowly down the length of his spine, like he’s petting the valley between the wings he can’t see. “Well, that’s just par for the course,” Dean rumbles. “Sometimes a body wants touch and sometimes it wants to be left the fuck alone.”
Cas always wants touch. At least from Dean. He doesn’t say so. “It frustrates me how much good and bad I can feel at the same time.”
“Oh, buddy,” Dean says. “Yeah.”
(After the perfect darkness of the Empty, Cas finds the world a little...overwhelming. Dean tries to help.)

Summary
Sometimes, the combined brain rots of quarantine and Supernatural leave you thinking, "What if Cas actually responded to Dean's Zepp mix with a mixtape of his own?" Before you know it, one of you has a series of six themed playlists, and the other has the world's weirdest writing prompt.
In other words, Cas returns from the Empty and gives Dean a mixtape. Dean slowly loses his mind.
