Shouto wakes up in the hospital after the final battle is finally won. But at what costs? Where will his family go from here? Is Touya dead? Does he deserve to be dead? Does Shouto /want/ him to be dead? Shouto can always count on his best friend to be there for him, and he will be there in return for Izuku. After all, they’ve both been through so much.
AKA my “fixing” of the MHA ending because there were a few things I was unsatisfied with. Featuring the Todoroki siblings and Izuku processing all that went down, sibling bonding, and a happier ending for Touya bc I refuse to let him suffer to death in a tube.

Summary
It’s not often that Shouto initiates conversation and Natsuo learned not to take it to heart. That’s simply how Shouto is. He knows his little brother cares because every now and again, he’ll receive a cute picture of a cat or some outdated meme followed by a question mark. Something that lets Natsuo know that Shouto is thinking of him.
So, when his phone chirps with a text from his brother, he looks up so fast it makes him dizzy. It’s likely another picture but he has to be sure. He’d spent enough time in his life not being there, a quick peek won’t kill him.
Shouto: Hey. I have a question.
Shouto: Several, actually.

Summary
Months after the war, Midoriya Izuku volunteers as a Hero Trauma Cleaning Service; preserving the belongings of the dead, including villains'.
As Izuku packs Shigaraki Tomura's belongings, he finds himself speculating how Tomura had lived his life, bringing the guilt he closed off back along with the lingering embers of One For All.
… Perhaps somewhere along the line, what lingers in Izuku’s heart when he thinks about Tomura isn’t just a sense of failed duty as a hero. Something more personal, that Izuku himself hasn’t fully found the words for yet.
