Summary
Life at Hogwarts wasn’t at all what Luna thought it would be. She couldn’t seem to find her place, and being different in this world is a curse. Instead of the amazing experience she’d hoped for, Luna was met with bullying and alienation, and thought that maybe she should never have come. Just in time though, she made a friend, Ginny Weasley, and through Ginny, began to make other friends, restoring her confidence and overall loving outlook of life. Aside from her new best friend, Luna began to grow closer to the infamous Harry Potter, learning in the process that the boy who lived is a lot like her.

Summary

Read this a million years ago and remember really loving it. I’ve just zoomed through the first five chapters and here are my thoughts:
It’s definitely missing any and all tags. A big one being the non con tag, Ch 3 has a very sudden SA scene.
There’s also slurs just kind of tossed around in casual conversation, which was a tad jarring, but honestly I can get over it. I knew a lot of kids a decade ago who did the same, though it definitely feels like it’s a little forced and unnatural here.
It feels like the author picked one singular personality trait from each character and inflated it until they became a caricature of themselves. Hopefully they gain some depth as the story progresses.
There’s a lot of under and overlying homophobia, and I think it’s meant to be representing internalized homophobia, but it’s too early to tell.Finished, and I really enjoyed it still. This fic had me feeling like an anxious teenager again, genuinely had me stressed and my heart racing a few times. The ending felt a bit abrupt, but I am just awful at writing endings so I get it.
All in all, I’m glad I found it again.
