Summary
Honestly, Mira can’t even imagine Rumi singing this with anyone else. It feels almost spontaneous, and yet inevitable, the give and take, the way they orbit around each other. Rumi was magnetic before, but with Zoey next to her it’s like her aura redoubles; Mira can feel how the crowd thrills with every teasing smile sent their way.
Zoey too fills the stage. Rumi’s reacting to her as much as she’s leading, and Zoey’s grin borders on something almost triumphant as they jostle shoulders and Rumi gives way to her. They’re singing to each other, they’re singing to the crowd, they’re—
They’re singing to her and oh, the attention is addictive.
Or: in which Mira falls in with married couple Rumi and Zoey and doesn't realize how far that is to fall.

“You don’t want us waiting on you hand and foot?” Rumi glances at her, smiling. And she would if asked, Zoey knows.
She hooks her good leg around Rumi, heel pressing into the small of her back, and lowers her voice as Rumi starts at the contact. “Well, if it was you, unnie,” she croons, and watches Rumi’s cheeks flush, feels the warmth of it against her hand.

It’s 7AM when two hundred girls file into the auditorium for the Huntr/x auditions. The rumor is only two of them will make it through this final stage of the process, and everyone is whispering about their rivals and then, once they get a look, about those already standing up on the stage.
Celine, former Sunlight Sister. Big time choreographers and producers, industry people that most would kill to get in front of. And a purple haired teenager.
Mira is pissed at that inclusion. Zoey’s excited for her chance.
And Rumi is waiting for the Honmoon to speak.

“If I’m going to be working on accepting this part of me,” Rumi continues, rolling her shoulders and flexing an arm briefly, “then maybe I should also embrace this other side of me.” She tries to smile. “You know, get it all over at once while we have some free time.”
Or: Post movie, Rumi decides to go off her suppressants and blockers. This is absolutely fine and not going to awaken anything in anyone.
