    Summary

Hermione’s first rule of cursed objects was simple:
If something looked like an heirloom, it was absolutely going to ruin your afternoon.
The signet ring sat in its containment cube on the warded slate with the smug patience of a predator pretending not to be hungry. Every few minutes, the serpent ouroboros motif caught the lab light and winked, as if it knew a joke no one else was in on.
    Hermione hated that.
She also hated the way the rune-script under Malfoy’s bandage had crept—quietly, inexcusably—since they’d sealed the cube. It had started at his knuckles. Now it ghosted over the heel of his palm in a thin silver half-line, like ink deciding the body was a reasonable place to file itself.
“Don’t stare at it,” she said without looking up, because she could feel Malfoy staring.
“I’m not,” Malfoy replied immediately, which meant he absolutely was.

    Or
Draco Malfoy stupidly gets bitten and marked by a feral ring, Hermione Granger attempts to fix things with magic, competence and what she thinks is clear language. Draco thinks otherwise. Courtship ensues.

    Summary

Caitlyn looked at her boarding pass for her connecting flight and sighed, sounding tired. “The flight home is always my least favorite part of any trip.”

Vi couldn’t relate - she got homesick real bad, and while she’d loved being at the Games, even the air felt better now that she was back in Zaun.

“Do you…do you maybe…” Vi shook her head. “Nah, it’s stupid.”

Because it was. It was so stupid.

Caitlyn’s face shifted from unreadable to curious. “What is it?”

Nerves fizzing around in her chest, Vi took a deep breath.

    Fuck it.

“If you don’t have anything important waiting…do you maybe wanna stay?”

    Summary

Caitlyn's hand rose, slowly, unsteadily. Blood slicked her fingers as she found the helmet's seal. A hiss of pressure, then the whine of servos and finally the clang of metal hitting stone.

    Vi's world tilted.

Dark hair. The realization struck like a blaster bolt. Soft features though with charisma. In front of her it wasn’t the rough-edged man she'd imagined beneath that helmet, but-

"A woman," Vi breathed without meaning to, her words left unexpectedly. The evening light caught on high cheekbones, on long lashes clumped with blood and sweat. One eye was blank, just scarred emptiness but the other... blue as Ilum's crystal caves, brimming with unshed tears.

    Summary

Sometimes, losing sight reveals more than the eye can see.

Caitlyn arrives in the quiet countryside, marked by a scar and haunted by shadows she can’t escape. Vi tends to the vines and horses, guarding secrets beneath her guarded gaze.

In a place where silence speaks louder than words, their paths collide.

And what begins as escape may uncover truths neither was ready to face.

After a traumatic injury, Caitlyn is sent away for recovery by medical advice—only to find that healing has many forms, and some of them come with calloused hands and watchful eyes.
