Summary
There’s something wrong with Will.
It started three weeks ago, almost four. Will had woken from some sort of nightmare and, instead of seeking comfort in Mike the way he usually would, he’d rolled out a sleeping bag from the closet and chosen to sleep on the floor.
No one believes Mike, except for Joyce. But even she doesn’t understand the full extent to which something is wrong with Will.
Mike understands, though. Mike has been paying attention.

"Will is still asleep the next evening. Mike hasn’t left the station once. None of the party have, nor have Jon and Joyce. They take turns waking Will and checking his responses—Lucas had explained to everyone that after the level of head trauma Will had likely suffered, there was almost no chance he didn’t have a concussion, likely a pretty bad one at that. They had to make sure he wouldn’t end up in a coma."

Summary
“Looks like I bit you.” Will tilts his head to get a better look. All Mike can do is stare at him. His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.

It’s winter in Hawkins, and Mike and Will aren’t speaking anymore, despite living under the same roof. Will is avoidant and spends most days in the basement, and Mike has never felt so alone.
Then the power goes out, and Mike desperately wants to understand what went wrong, and to know what that damn painting means.

Summary
Will doesn't know what Mike wants from him.
They’d consistently have moments where everything was fine. They’d be hanging out with the group and with each other like nothing was wrong—and then out of no where Mike would pull back, distance himself for a bit. Like he refused to let himself be… seen?
Will hasn't gotten a break since they came back from Lenora. And with the way Mike is now, he still won't be getting one.
Will can't help but endlessly think about what he might have done wrong, or what went wrong. The few conversations they had in Lenora, a loop in his head almost retracing his steps to see if he had said anything bad or if it had anything to do with that, or if he had somehow let himself be obvious. Then making friends with Robin Buckley, a person he now looked up too, it was all a bit much.
Not knowing Mike was busy mentally pacing back and forth, trying to figure out when Will and Robin got so close. Trying to figure out why it bothered him as much as it did. Trying to understand himself for once.
