Her clothes are soaked, sticking to her body like a second skin as rain splatters her mercilessly. In the distance, she watches the train disappear in a cloud of engine smoke and mist, its screaming whistle growing ever fainter as it goes. Her head falls back limply onto the soggy ground beneath her and she closes her eyes, just needing to rest. Just for a moment.
