Summary
Everyone is griefing ever since Neteyam's death. But instead of getting closer, Lo'ak becomes distant from everyone.
Everyone lets it be, thinking its normal for someone who is grieving.
But Lo'ak lost purpose of his life ever since, and his parents doesnt seem to notice. Only Kiri, Tuk, and his friends does.
How could a parent neglect their childs feeling just because theyre "also" grieving?
Is that an excuse? Or is that valid?
Is it valid to let your son suffer in silence even if you got all the clues already?
Do they ever notice?
Do you ever notice?

Summary
Jake hauled Neteyam up, one arm under his shoulders, one hand slapping hard over the bullet wound. Neteyam gasped, clawing weakly at his vest.
“Dad,” he choked. “Lo’ak -Lo’ak’s still on the ship-”
Jake’s heart had faltered. A violent, sickening misfire. The way of water has no beginning and no end. The sea gives and the sea takes.
(Neteyam is shot and hanging on by a thread. Lo’ak is taken by the RDA. Jake is losing his mind, but not his boys. Not ever.)

Summary
The guilt over Neteyam clings to Lo’ak like a second skin, and the hurtful words from his father only suffocate him more.
Something’s gotta give, lest Jake lose his son forever the next time.
Or: I made these two talk about their grief to each other, finally.
