Summary
Minho, his hand still cradling his face, leans closer, just like he did on the staircase. Jisung’s heart speeds up, his stomach coiling when he feels surprisingly hot breath on his ear.
“The bite isn’t just about me feeding on you. There is a reason why people seek out vampires on their own will.”
“Why?” Jisung whispers back, curiosity getting the better of him.
Before Minho answers, Jisung feels his wet lips on his skin, his earlobe. He shudders, sighing out more loudly than he anticipated.
“Pleasure.”Or: The night of Halloween, his friends dare Jisung to go into the haunted house on the outskirts of their town.

Summary
“No. Jisung should choose,” Minho says.
“That makes no sense. He’s biased,” Minho says.
“Yes. Towards me,” Minho says.
“Towards me,” Minho says.
Jisung rips the towel away from his head, eyes going wide. “Minho?”
Two Minhos turn to look at him, both with icy glares. Jisung represses the urge to squeak.

Summary
From closer, it’s clear that Minho is about his age. He’s handsome— very much so— in an untouchable sort of way. Straight nose, sharp eyes, a defined cupid’s bow. He looks sculpted rather than born. Jisung might shrink under the weight of his presence if the situation were different.
Knowing that Minho is dying ruins the illusion of perfection.
Jisung answers an ad online reading: "I'm going to die, but there's a lot of things I haven't done yet that I don't want to do alone."

Summary
Minho’s insides twisted when Jisung’s hands found the indents his fangs left in the small creature. A moment passed where Jisung gently felt around it, blinking. Then he handed it to Minho.
Through the crackling of the fire, a whisper came.
“You don’t need to cook it, do you?”
It was hardly a question. The answer was as evident as the truth under Jisung’s fingertips. But Minho knew he wanted to hear him say it.
The truth must be let out at some point. Minho himself wanted to say it.
“No, I don’t.”

Summary
“Look, we don't have to if you don't want to. I remember what you said the last time we saw each other. I can walk myself back home right now, just say the word,” Jisung says, worrying his lower lip between his teeth. A nervous tick, Minho notes.
He considers it for a moment – sending Jisung home – but then he would have gained nothing from all of this. But he also doesn't want to lead the guy on.
“You should know I wear hearing aids,” Minho blurts, an attempt to sabotage. This is the part where Jisung will realize Minho isn't worth it. He’ll walk away, Minho is sure of it.
"I know. Chan-hyung told me,” Jisung says, “I don't care about that– or well, I do, but– you make it sound like it’s a dealbreaker–”
“Because it is.”
“It's not.”
Jisung's words kill Minho’s argument, leaving Minho staring at him in shock, his mouth hanging open.
or:
After years of accepting that he’ll never be enough for a relationship, Minho feels relieved when he doesn't receive a soulmate mark. That is, until he meets Jisung — another person without a mark, who makes him question everything he thought he wanted.
