“Baby, it's almost nine,” the woman whispers against her neck, leaving a trail of goosebumps.
Miranda opens her eyes, turning to find a dark-haired woman lying beside her, propped up on one elbow and smiling as if there's nothing unusual about being in Miranda's bed.
She jerks away from her. “Who the hell are you?”
The woman blinks. “What?”
“How did you get in here?”
“Baby, what are you talking about?”
Miranda backs up against the headboard and reaches for the phone on her nightstand. The woman sits up, dragging the sheet with her, wearing the burgundy La Perla camisole Miranda left folded in her dresser last night. The dark lace makes her porcelain skin look almost luminous and dewy in the morning light.
