Something tugs in the center of his chest. He should be angry, furious at his brother for trying to do something to screw him over, even after years of not speaking. He’s been doing the same since they were kids, using Ilya as a scapegoat to slip out of his responsibilities and consequences for his own actions. Doing this - getting a woman pregnant that isn’t his wife and claiming it’s Ilya who has done it - is just something else to add to the list.
Instead he just looks at the picture of this tiny little boy and wonders if he’ll have freckles.

It’s probably some sort of fundraising thing; they need a new gym, last he heard from Joyce, and had been annoyingly trying to get money from everyone in the town.
