Summary
La morte non dovrebbe essere complessa, e neanche trascinare con sé il dolore. La sofferenza, quella, dovrebbe appartenere alla vita. Alla possibilità di sentire il proprio corpo, di comprenderlo, di afferrarne ogni sensazione e di lasciarla imprimere nella memoria, per essere più pronti, più svelti la prossima volta – perché la vita è un susseguirsi di opportunità, di nuove occasioni e di speranze.
Dalla morte, invece, non dovrebbe esserci alcuna lezione da imparare, e quindi alcun dolore.

Nella taverna c’è un buon odore. Il legno dalle venature rossastre quasi risplende contro le fiamme delle lampade, le voci degli ospiti sono alte e gioviali e l’alcol profuma di fiori e di zucchero.
La legna che brucia nel camino della grande sala emana un aroma simile a quello del dente di leone, e tutt’attorno aleggia l’odore pieno e intenso di carne e di stufato. Geralt evita il bancone, e va a sedere ad un tavolo isolato, dove la luce delle lanterne e del fuoco è appena più debole. Ha ancora il viso nascosto dal cappuccio del mantello, e nonostante il tepore accomodante del luogo, preferisce restare celato. -

Dal piano inferiore arrivano i canti e le risa della locanda. Suoni di posate, di piatti e di bicchieri che picchiano sul legno duro.
È piacevole, un sottofondo vivo e caloroso. Può vederne i colori e sentirne i profumi da lì, chiusi nella loro piccola stanza.
Jaskier inizia a passare l’unguento sui bordi slabbrati della ferita. Le sue dita lunghe sfiorano appena lo sfregio gonfio e violaceo, e Geralt è appena più rilassato sotto di lui.

Humans were far harder to defeat.
Jim Hopper and Steve Harrington are trapped in a Russian prison, held in brutal conditions. A violent and sadistic Russian officer fixates on Steve, and Hopper is powerless to intervene as the kid he used to lecture about parties and beer becomes a target of relentless torment. When a chaotic rescue mission saves Hopper but forces him to leave Steve behind, he makes a plan to go back for him on his own.
The Party doesn't abandon its own, though, and Steve belongs to them. With the kids, some helpful adults, and the teens who are still unsure how they've gotten dragged into so many life-or-death situations, Hopper heads back into hell to save the kid he failed.
This time, he'll die before he leaves Steve behind.
